  4. Wrist support with “hooks”. These helps isolate your hands from the obvious stresses involved with heavy weight lifting exercises.

For basic and low weight training routine you can go with the simple Wrist support with or without the thumb support. But if you are lifting heavy, specially deadlift, dumbbell rows etc then you should go for wrist support with straps or hooks.
