Fitness has become a hot topic these days and you too, must be looking for a quick way to add some health to your body. People who think fitness regimens are boring and monotonous, need a serious reality check. Fitness can be fun, musical, and breathtakingly beautiful. This is what we can say after watching Bips new DVD called Breakfree. For all the fitness fans, here is our quick Bipasha Basu dance workout review.
Breakfree is the second installment of the Bipasha Basu health DVDs that was released in the last year. Prior to this Bips had launched another DVD called Love Yourself. Break Free uses aerobics, a unique workout regimen that combines multiple principles of health like stretching, strength training, cardio, and flexibility training on the beat of a rhythmic music.
Our Review:
Bipasha Basu’s Breakfree is a 30 minutes aerobic dance workout regimen, broken into three levels namely warm up, moderate and extreme with a small cool down segment in the end. The DVD begins with the instructor Bipasha Basu talking with the viewers and sharing with them her ‘Love Yourself’ philosophy. She motivates the viewers to stay fit and healthy. If you take a look at her, as a fitness instructor in the video, her perfectly fit and well-toned body, acts a great inspiration for the audiences to stay fit.
The work out begins with 2 to 3 minutes of warm up session. This session includes some basic aerobic moves that help you to loosen up your muscles and prepare for the beats coming ahead. The next is 25 to 26 minutes of a dance workout that has been spiced up with beautiful music and also some Bollywood dance moves. This also includes a 5 to 6 minutes episode of fast dance moves towards the end followed by cool down.
- The work out session has been designed very beautifully. Bipasha looks stunningly fit in her workout costume and so does her team. The music is great and quite upbeat and has elements of western as well as classical music. The music keeps you grooved and you move automatically. This definitely sets the mood for a dance workout.
- The segments have been arranged thoughtfully with proper warm up and cool down and one well-timed water break in between the rhythmic exercising sessions.
- Bipasha and her team perform the moves in a very easy-to-catch fashion. The steps have been broken down and the instructions look very clear. This makes the workout easier for the no-dance audience. The transition from one-step to the other is very crisp and clear. Hence, you will not feel lost or offbeat anywhere in the session.
- There is an instruction box on the left hand corner of the screen highlighting the upcoming step. This keeps you prepared for the next transition.
- The dance moves includes pelvic thrusts, stretching, kite flies, hip locks, and abs isolation too. It includes a lot of too and fro movement adding to the stress build-up. The dance also includes Bollywood moves and some Bips patent moves that make this session all the more fun. Thus, this 30-minute workout is quite wholesome.
- The footwork needs to be matched with an elaborated hand movement. This demands co-ordination, making this simple work out a little challenging.
- Bipasha, apart from looking great, performs the role of an instructor beautifully. She looks energetic, fit, and has a constant smile on her face that motivates the viewers throughout.
- The workout could have been more intense with some more challenging moves. A person, who is used to exercising or workouts regularly, will find this session subtle. However, we understand that due to versatility of the viewers (not everyone is a gifted dancer) the moves have been kept simple.
- The last section that has fast paced moves might prove challenging for the new comers. The transition is swift and not every move has been taught in the earlier session. The instructions, in this section, do not look so clear. The viewers might have to watch the DVD several times to get all the moves right. People at ease with dancing, might not find it that challenging though.
- Since the moves are repetitive, it might get lesser effective after a few weeks of regularly Breakfree-ing. However, by then, you might have achieved your health target.
i am following Bipasha Basu’s Break free regime. I am a beginner who does go for walks daily but is extremely poor when it comes to body flexibility. This regime helped me tone my muscles. I do feel energised and pumped up when I this routine. This is great for beginners as people who does workout regularly might find it mild. Bipasha is lovely as a trainer. She has this constant smile all throughout the workout and she also keeps pumping you up. Overall I really enjoy this session.
